- Support a range of projects within the Atmospheric Composition & Chemistry Group
- Grow your career with the truly supportive team at CSIRO – Australia’s National Science Agency!
Interested in joining a team of international leaders in atmospheric chemistry observations and modelling, and building a career in impactful research? We are currently seeking a motivated early-career Experimental Scientist to join our team, and it could be the opportunity you’re looking for!
As the Atmospheric Trace Gas Experimental Scientist, you will be part of the CSIRO Climate Science Centre, and our dynamic Atmospheric Composition and Chemistry (ACC) Group. The team brings together capability in the observation of trace gases, particulate matter and chemical processes of the atmosphere, and the transport and chemical modelling required to interpret these data. This is performed at global to regional and urban scales, and timescales from minutes to millennia.
Joining our GASLAB (Global Atmospheric Sampling LABoratory) Team in Aspendale, you will play a vital role in supporting a number of key research projects, including the Kennaook/Cape Grim Science Program. Primarily, you will support the ongoing delivery of high-quality data from these various research projects, by providing logistical support, data collection & analysis assistance, and helping with the operation of various greenhouse gas measurement analytical instrumentation. This role requires someone who wants to be part of a high-performing team, and has a strong drive to deliver science in support of the Paris Agreement.
This ongoing, diverse role will be a great growth opportunity for an early-career scientist with strong attention to detail, well-developed organisational skills, interest for logistics, and a passion for climate science. So, if you have a keen interest in atmospheric science and looking for an opportunity to collaborate with a range of research and industry leaders, we would love to hear from you! CSIRO offers you excellent career development and professional support, and the opportunity to collaborate with a range of industry and research experts!
