About the team  

The University Library provides information resources, services, systems and spaces to innovate, stimulate and support teaching, learning and research.  The Library strategically enables the University to meet its goals through the creation, storage, transfer and seamless access to information.  The Library collaborates closely with the University community in delivering innovative solutions for research, teaching and learning needs.

About the opportunity  

You will:

  • Lead an excellent service culture and suite of learning, teaching and research services across a number of campus libraries designed to ensure an excellent student experience;
  • Play a lead role in the Library’s academic services for Schools, Research Centres and Institutes, including the provision of a range of Library research, teaching & learning services;
  • Ensure the optimal development of the Library collections and management of physical collections (including Special Collections); and
  • Develop and maintain positive partnerships with a range of other UWA areas to enable a high-quality learning and research experience. 

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency
  • Extensive management and leadership experience at a senior level and ability to provide training, career progression, succession and development
  • A client focussed approach and experience dealing with a range of stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
  • Demonstrated high level skills in strategic and operational planning, policy development, resource management and project management
  • Ability to deliver efficient, effective and innovative Library services
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a senior management team
  • Extensive knowledge of current trends and issues in academic libraries and the higher education section
