As an Associate Research Fellow, you will:

  • Conduct high-quality psychosocial intervention and research
  • Engage respectfully and collaboratively with other staff/students at Deakin, and external organisations and partners as well as with research participants
  • Participate in opportunities for research partnerships and build awareness of industry partners
  • Ensure impact of academic activity on the field and the community
  • Support and may lead applications for research funding

In a typical week, you will:

  • Be part of a vibrant and supportive team of researchers and psychologists
  • Receive training and supervision to help conduct and pilot test novel online psychosocial interventions, which focus on helping people affected by major depressive and bipolar disorder.
  • Use and expand your skills as a psychologist to conduct assessments, deliver online guidance and co-facilitate our group intervention.
  • When you are not working directly with participants, use your research experience to assist with trial co-ordination and monitoring.
  • Have the opportunity to work towards your career goals and contribute to ideas, funding applications, partnerships and peer reviewed papers arising from this or other research initiatives       

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Experience conducting psychotherapy with adults
  • Experience in the delivery of digital/online psychotherapy
  • Demonstrated research skills and experience
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships.
