As an Associate Research Fellow – Clinical Trial Coordinator, you will:

  • Contribute to all facets of clinical trial coordination in accordance with good clinical practice (GCP) guidelines and National Health and Medical Research National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research Involving Humans).
  • Assist in the co-ordination of the research projects by helping to prepare and finalise trial procedures, governance and ethics documents, intervention materials, recruitment, progress reports  and databases, and by implementing and monitoring the day-to-day tasks involved in conducting the trials in accordance with these procedures and governance requirements.
  • Engage respectfully and collaboratively with other staff/students at Deakin, and external organisations and partners as well as with research participants.
  • Be able to work independently as well as in a team and organise and attend team meetings.
  • Support and may lead applications for funding for research and contribute to presentations. and papers.
  • Keep up to date with current literature and methods relevant to their areas of responsibility.                                                                                                                                                                                      

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Completion of a post-graduate qualification in psychology, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, public health or other health related discipline.
  • Experience as a clinical trial coordinator.
  • Demonstrated research skills and experience in the preparation of study and governance documents, recruitment of participants for clinical trials, online/ telehealth research participant contact, data collection, trial monitoring, database management, and data entry and analysis as well as report writing.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and respect for research project participants and ability to communicate well with them, stakeholders and funding organisations.
  • Demonstrated organisational and project management skills including the ability to maintain a high standard of data record keeping and to meet competing deadlines.
