The Associate Professor / Professor of Information Technology is an academic leadership role responsible for leading the School’s implementation and evaluation of the Bachelor of Information Technology program, building its capacity to delivery outstanding industry-focused information technology education.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading school of Computer Science in delivering first class education in Computer Science, IT and Software Engineering and to contribute to the School’s world-class research reputation. The School was ranked in the top-50 in the world in the 2021 AWRU rankings, and has outstanding strength in a variety of areas, especially AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Optimisation, Cybersecurity, VR and Mixed Reality, and Software Engineering. ecms.adelaide.edu.au/computer-science

To be successful you will need, at a minimum

  • A PhD in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering (or related discipline) with extensive experience and track record in the field of IT research.

  • Evidence of a continuing high-level personal commitment to, and outstanding achievement in the research and teaching area of Information Technology.

  • Record of outstanding delivery of high-quality teaching and student experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and the ability to develop innovative teaching methods.

  • Proven involvement and skills in the management of education programs.

  • Experience in writing and consistently securing successful research funding applications to national competitive agencies.

  • Demonstrated ability to forge meaningful external relationships and to build partnerships with community, industry and other academic institutions and partners.
