  • Remuneration: $192,265 to $211,831 pa (LEVD) OR $247,679 pa (LEVE); inclusive of $162,466 to $178,999 (LEVD) salary p.a. OR inclusive of $209,292 (LEVE) salary p.a.; 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Gardens Point

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Associate Professor/Professor Information Security to join School of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, Academic Division.

We are seeking an Associate Professor or Professor to lead and make strategic contributions to teaching and research in the field of Information Security. The position holder will lead, promote and foster an inclusive high performance and high impact research and teaching team that achieves excellent outcomes for the school and faculty. The successful applicant will be joining a school which conducts fundamental and applied research into creating better, faster, more secure, and more accessible computing and interactive systems.

What you need to succeed

  • Extensive / outstanding record of research and/or achievements at a national and international level through academic institutions or industry in the area of Information Security. Completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline area or equivalent accreditation.
  • Significant evidence of high-quality research outcomes, including extensive experience obtaining external grants, publishing in top tier journals, and engagement with industry.
  • Record of excellence in teaching and learning including scholarly and innovative approaches to teaching and learning and supervision of postgraduate students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build teams and effectively interact with a range of staff in a complex environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership that drives high performance and collaborative culture, including the ability to build research teams around mutually understood strategic objectives which are aligned to the outcomes of the organisation and strategic partners.
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skills with the capacity to simultaneously deal with a number of complex issues in a university environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of the principles of diversity and inclusivity and health and safety, including evidence of the ability to improve gender balance in staff and student profiles, and to increase the number of Indigenous Australian students and staff.
