Position overview
ANU has an international reputation for research and education relevant to the health and well-being of the population of Australia, as well as that of the developing world. This is achieved through discovery research, applied research in health service settings, research-led teaching in health and medical sciences, and the translation of research findings into practice and policy. The ANU College of Health and Medicine comprises the School of Medicine and Psychology, the John Curtin School of Medical Research and the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health. These schools work together to deliver world-class research and education across the spectrum of medicine and health-related fields, working in partnership with the health sector at local, national and international levels.
This role provides an exciting opportunity for an outstanding Associate Professor in Economic Evaluation to lead health economic evaluations within a program of clinical trials in Australia and in resource-limited settings internationally. The appointee will also, commensurate with the level of appointment, further their own research agenda, pursuing funding opportunities and programs of research that complement existing health economic and clinical research activities.

CHOIR has a strong focus on inter-disciplinary research using the underlying methodologies of clinical trials and patient-oriented research. The Department of Health Services Research and Policy (DHSRP) is part of the National Centre for Epidemiology and Public Health at the ANU. NCEPH is the leading school of population health in Australia. NCEPH researchers have a tradition of excellence in addressing the world’s most pressing population health issues, including improving health services, achieving and maintaining good mental health, healthy ageing, chronic disease prevention, infectious disease prevention, determining environmental risks to health, and health for the global population.
