The National School of Allied Health is located on six of the University's campuses: Brisbane, Strathfield, North Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Ballarat and is responsible for delivery of programs in four professional disciplines: Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy and Social Work / Human Services.

This position is a Joint Appointment with ACU, discipline of Occupational Therapy  and CatholicCare Sydney and contributes to an exciting new partnership between these organisations.

The Associate Lecturer/ Lecturer will provide high quality professional practice education and supervision to occupational therapy students and other allied health students undertaking interprofessional learning; will contribute to the teaching/research activities at ACU in areas related to the appointee's professional experience and expertise; and will provide evidence-based occupational therapy  and interprofessional services to clients attending CatholicCare Sydney Clinical Therapies programs in Western Sydney. Additionally, a Lecturer would contribute to scholarship of learning and teaching and evaluation of therapy services and professional practice education at ACU and CatholicCare.

The Associate Lecturer is accountable for high quality teaching outcomes through the effective development and delivery of lectures, tutorials and practicals for specified units in Occupational Therapy coursework degrees, particularly in areas relevant to working with children and families.

The Lecturer contributes to scholarship of learning and teaching and evaluation of therapy services and professional practice education at ACU and CatholicCare. The Lecturer is also accountable for high quality teaching outcomes through the effective development and delivery of lectures, tutorials and practicals for specified units in Occupational Therapy coursework degrees, particularly in areas relevant to working with children and families.

More specifically the role entails:

  • Planning, developing and delivering evidence-based occupational therapy evaluation and intervention for clients as required for quality and continuity of care (including collaborative goal setting, consultation, onward referral, provision of professional development/advice).
  • Supervising and evaluating occupational therapy students engaging in professional practice experiences across a range of environments.
  • Coordinating and delivering high quality teaching in the context of a national occupational therapy curriculum.

You will need to have:

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor or Graduate Entry Masters) and registration with AHPRA and membership of the relevant professional association (Occupational Therapy Australia).
  • Occupational Therapy knowledge, skills and experience in evidence-based practice for children and families.
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in delivering services across different service delivery and funding models, including NDIS.
  • Evidence of ability to show commitment with integrity to the Catholic Identity, Mission and ethos of the University.

Total remuneration valued to $83,381 total rem pa - $113,156 total rem pa, including salary component $70,458 - $95,618  pa (Academic Level A) OR total remuneration valued to $123,584 total rem - $145,796 total rem pa, including salary component $104,430 - $123,298  pa (Academic Level B), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
