The position

As the Associate Lecturer or Lecturer in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography) you will support student radiography placements in Tamworth and surrounding districts in North West NSW.

You will:

  • Liaise with placement supervisors and students in the region.
  • Provide pastoral care and placement support for Medical Radiation Science students on rural placements.
  • Collaborate with other academic and professional staff to develop and implement interprofessional education and research opportunities.

About the Department of Rural Health

The University of Newcastle’s Department of Rural Health (UONDRH) delivers a number of programs aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of regional, rural, and Indigenous communities within the New England, Northwest Slopes and Plains, Mid North Coast and areas of the Hunter Valley and Manning Rivers regions.

Through a variety of programs, the UONDRH has made it possible for undergraduate and postgraduate students studying medicine, nursing, and allied health disciplines to complete a large part of their education and training in a rural setting at one of seven locations – Tamworth, Armidale, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Taree, Inverell or Moree.

How you will inspire us

 You will:

  • Be registered with or eligible for AHPRA registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner; 
  • Have a sound understanding of contemporary professional and educational issues in Diagnostic Radiography;
  • Have current clinical experience as a Diagnostic Radiographer;
  • Be passionate about sharing your knowledge and experience to support student placements across regional NSW.
