About the opportunity
Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Health is seeking a teaching focused Associate Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Science to assist in the design, coordination and teaching of units within the Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Provide a high standard of teaching and learning, educational design and delivery in keeping with University policy, procedure and guidelines.
- Support and enhance the student learning experience by:
- a learning-centred approach to education delivery;
- actively engaging in the adoption of existing and emerging learning technology and platforms;
- providing flexible options across face-to-face, blended and online modes.
- Undertake research activities that align with the research profile of the Faculty.
- Undertake relevant community and professional engagement that supports and enhances the University and Faculty’s profile and priorities.
About you
The successful candidate will be progressing towards a PhD in an alrea relating to sport, exercise science or clinical exercise physiology and be passionate about sport and improving health outcomes through exercise science. In addition, you will posses:
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at a tertiary level in sport and exercise science or clinical exercise physiology.
- Demonstrated success in community engagement and student outreach and/or marketing activities.
- Two years of professional experience as an exercise scientist, sports scientist, exercise physiologist and/or strength and conditioning coach. Accreditation with ESSA is also desirable.
- An appropriate track record in research or teaching scholarship relative to level and academic profile.
Salary and benefits

- Part-time (0.5FTE), fixed term (8 months)
- Located at our Coffs Harbour campus.
- The full-time base salary for an Associate Lecturer (Academic Level A) ranges from $74,559 - $100,213 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $117,249 per annum.
