About the Role 

As the Associate Lecturer in Social Work, you will be responsible for delivering an interactive and personalised approach to learning that results in student success in an exciting and dynamic field.

In this Teaching Specialist (Practitioner) role, some key position capabilities include:

  • Create, coordinate, conduct lectures/tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops and assess students enrolled in Social Work topics of the College, with a focus on clinical skills training and/or supervision of students undertaking work integrated learning.

  • Contribute to the planning and evaluation of these topics.

  • Assist in the development of topic and course materials with appropriate guidance from Course Coordinators and/or Senior Academic Staff.

  • Provide support, academic counselling and professional advice to students concerning their studies, professional development, and career opportunities.

In addition, you will participate in the College’s administrative functions such as attending College meetings and membership of committees. This role does not include making a research contribution.

About You 

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience in delivery of curriculum, student assessment and effective use of innovations and technologies in teaching practices. You are a passionate professional in Field Education. You are a focused, committed, and driven individual who has a vision for the field of Social Work.

In addition, you will possess:

  • As a minimum, satisfactory completion of a Bachelor of Social Work and/or Master of Social Work (qualifying) or equivalent qualification and experience in an area relevant to Social Work.

  • Must be eligible for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and have a minimum of five years full-time, post-qualifying practice experience.

  • Relevant and contemporary clinical experience in a relevant field.

  • Evidence of teaching experience at a tertiary level within relevant discipline
