About This Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for a Teaching Focused Associate Lecturer in the School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences. As the Associate Lecturer, you will develop your teaching practice that enables student learning and demonstrate the UQ values. You will engage in internal collaborations that expand your teaching expertise and profile. You will also work to ensure students enrolled in the Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science, and the Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology courses, have access to work integrated learning opportunities that meet the requirements of the accrediting body (ESSA).

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Undertaking teaching, facilitation, and examination of undergraduate, honours and/or postgraduate coursework students

  • Course design, preparation of teaching materials, and assessment

  • Research outputs and translation of research findings to benefit student learning and experience

  • Assisting with applications for external funding

  • Demonstrating and promoting UQ values

  • Engaging in professional development and fostering the School’s relations with industry, government departments, professional bodies and the wider community

This is a full-time (100%), continuing position. At Academic level A, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $77,324 - $102,945, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $90,470 - $120,445 annually. As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.

About You

Applicants should possess a PhD or equivalent in Exercise and Sport Science or Clinical Exercise Physiology. Additionally, you will demonstrate:

  • Evidence of high-quality university teaching skills or contributions to teaching in the discipline under the mentorship of established academics.

  • An emerging teaching profile in the discipline with evidence of impact on student learning.

  • An emerging profile of contributing to education research and/or emerging profile of collaborating on high-quality research in the discipline.

  • Participation in activities to develop teaching expertise in the discipline.

  • Participation in service activities in the School or the broader University.

  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal and consultative skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in teaching and learning.

  • A profile of professional expertise that complements and/or supplements the expertise that currently exists within the School and the broader University

In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:
