  • HEO7 - salary from $104,633 plus 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The Associate Finance Manager provides operational financial management, advice, analysis, reports, services, and solutions to assigned portfolios. The position resolves a wide range of decision support, financial management and accounting related issues ranging from the routine, covered by established policy, and will consult with more senior colleagues for more unique and complex matters for which limited, or no policy guidance may be available. This position also contributes to the review of policies and procedures and their application based on operational experience to ensure these reflect not only statutory obligations, but also best implementation practice to meet portfolio requirements.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provide day-to-day relationship management and business partnering for complex portfolios
  • work with the SFM in partnering with a non-finance stakeholder group to deliver financial plans aligned to strategy and review and interpret results against plan 
  • work with SFM to ensure adherence to general financial governance, related compliance and services in a customer focused and timely manner
  • undertake any other duties appropriate to the role classification as required by the supervisor or Associate Finance Director, including the provision of back up for other Financial Services staff as needed.

About you

  • bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Management/relevant field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • part qualified or membership of CPA Australia or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia or equivalent
  • ability to interpret, apply and integrate complex financial policies and procedures, external requirements, and accounting standards
  • ability to provide operational financial insights, sound financial management, decision support, advice, analysis and support to client group/faculty and finance team
  • demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, tact, discretion and good judgement
  • demonstrated ability to navigate across a complex (matrix reporting) enterprise
  • demonstrated relationship management skills across all levels of the organisation, inspiring confidence and trust
  • excellent Microsoft Office skills particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; with the ability to adapt and utilise complex Excel spreadsheets for financial reporting and analysis, budget and forecast preparation and analysis, KPI reporting, ad-hoc analysis etc.
