About the role

The Associate Director Software Engineering is responsible for provision of the Digital Applications that underpin the University's administrative business and teaching systems, and the integration of these systems and data services to provide a highly functional, high-availability, effective operating environment for the University.

The role is also responsible for Identity and Access management for access to all University electronic resources and systems; and for providing the University's Database Administration and Data Engineering services.

The position operates with a high degree of independence and autonomy; requires the application of sound judgment, tact and innovation, and the development of relationships with senior staff across the University to achieve the desired outcomes. The position reports to the CIO and operates under their open direction. The role also has line management responsibility for the Information Services team.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Experience at a senior level, in the provision and support of complex software systems in an enterprise environment. The proven ability to provide leadership to a team of software and data engineers and system integrators. You will have experience in delivering modern identity management solutions in a complex organisation. 

You will also have the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders of the University and on behalf of the University with external consultants and service providers.

About the Directorate
