About the opportunity 

We are in an exciting period within out HR Partnering function as we continue to mature on our journey to provide strategic and operational management support and advice aligned to our workforce strategy to meet the ever-changing workforce management needs of the University.

We are seeking a passionate, consultative and experienced Associate Director, HR Partnering to lead and manage a group of HR Partners. Instilling a collaborative and client-centric culture, your role will be pivotal in driving consistency and excellence in the delivery of integrated, strategic HR solutions and HR Operational excellence. Your strong management experienced coupled with your keen interest in process improvement and enhancing the client experience is essential as we strive for a contemporary approach towards service excellence in the delivery of HR supporting services.

Operating as an expert in the HR Partnering lifecycle, you will provide clear leadership and guidance to your team, clients and colleagues alike. You will work with a high degree of autonomy and will be required to lead and guide people within a complex and multi-layered environment by providing strategic advice on organisational capability, workforce planning, recruitment and retention, talent and performance management, performance improvement, organisational change, design and restructures, conflict resolution, consultation processes, and a range of other employee relations issues. 

About you 

  • successful leadership of a high-performing team of HR professionals within a large, complex, and matrixed organisation
  • relevant tertiary qualifications with extensive experience in senior HR management, partnering and consultancy experience
  • extensive experience as a senior HR professional who proactively engages and collaborates with colleagues within a Centre of Expertise model (desirable)
  • elevated relationship management skills and the ability to operate with tact and professionalism at the senior level
  • outstanding presentation, communication and influencing skills to deliver messaging to a diversified range of clients and varied senior executive audiences
  • flexibility in their organisation and planning skills to balance competing agendas and demands in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • demonstrated experience in driving alignment, consistency, and excellence in the delivery of integrated, commercially sound HR solutions and operational excellence
  • proven commitment to HR values and behaviours, providing leadership in the delivery of the workforce strategy and operational planning, embedding and facilitating the achievement of workforce goals and initiatives.
