This influential role will lead a team of committed and highly professional staff working across Employability, Careers and Student Academic Skills, enabling students to succeed in their studies and beyond.

Developing and delivering innovative, high-impact initiatives across the areas of curriculum embedded employability and co- and extra-curricular employability, work-integrated-learning and internships, support for graduate employment, career guidance and student academic skills development.

You will operate under broad direction with a high overall degree of autonomy, in pursuit of agreed objectives.  The role also provides high-level, specialist advice and support to the Executive Director, Student Experience and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Learning), and to other senior leaders across the University as required, in the planning and coordination of strategic initiatives relating to student employability.

To be successful you will need:

  • substantial experience leading and managing a high-performing and effective service delivery team;
  • advanced understanding of strategic issues and professional practices relating to employability and academic skills development;
  • demonstrated ability to translate strategy into realisable and measurable implementation initiatives;
  • substantial experience building and maintaining productive collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • highly developed analytical, problem-solving and strategic planning skills, with the ability to be innovative and creative in identifying solutions.
