The Assessment Officer plays an integral role in the Assessment Support team and is responsible for the high-quality delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate coursework assessment services to UniSQ students. This role makes a significant contribution to the achievement of student success by supporting student assessment activities, including examinations, and administering student assessment service.

As an Associate Assessment Support Officer, you will thrive on supporting students in an emotionally challenging environment and display personal resilience and empathy in your interactions and decision making. You will have the ability to work collaboratively to build trust, and to provide advice and assistance to Professional and Academic Staff to ensure compliance with established assessment processes and policy and achieve the best possible outcomes for our students.

What you'll do

As a member of the broader Assessment Support team, you will make a significant contribution to student success by supporting students as they interact with centralised student assessment activities.

  • Administering assessment extensions for discipline-based student cohorts and promptly and confidentially refer students to the appropriate support services.
  • Guide students through assessment-related decision-making and processes with respect and empathy and develop and apply personalised de-escalation strategies to support students in distress.
  • Perform administrative and system tasks relating to student assessments, in functions such as examinations, invigilation, grade finalisations, review of grades and other customised assessment processes to provide an equitable and inclusive student experience.
  • Work as part of a broader team in Student Administration to support key functions in critical high-volume time.

Together with your relevant qualifications and experience you will have:

  • A passion for supporting others to achieve positive outcomes.
  • An ability to work efficiently and accurately in a high-volume environment.
  • A willingness to cross-train and to support other team members during times of leave or peaks in workload.
  • A commitment to process improvement.
  • Experience in Examinations and Assessments would be advantageous.

Salary: Total remuneration range $81,768 to $86,860 pa (includes salary range of $69,090 to $73,393 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)
