The Opportunity

The Department of Anatomy and Developmental Biology within the School of Biomedical Sciences is seeking to appoint suitably qualified Assistant Lecturers/Demonstrators to contribute to the delivery of undergraduate classes (laboratory sessions and tutorials) as part of a team of Anatomy Sessional Educators, under the supervision of a senior member of staff in the Centre for Human Anatomy Education.

The Assistant Lecturer/Demonstrator will contribute to academic activities, such as resource preparation, delivery of new class material, student marking and feedback as well as attending additional training sessions and seminars outside of assigned class times. The commitment to our student’s education is paramount, and by having a strong demonstrator-to-student ratio we can improve both experience and outcomes.

Ideally, we are seeking someone with a clinical degree that includes substantial training in whole-body human anatomy (e.g., Medicine) or a Science degree with Honours, which must include a major (or equivalent) in whole-body human anatomy. Only applicants with these skills and qualifications will be considered for this position.

If you believe you fit this profile, we look forward to receiving your application.

Hear from some of our demonstrators and see key dates for recruitment. We are currently recruiting for semester 2, 2024 and both semesters 2025.

Diversity is one of our greatest strengths at Monash. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culturally and linguistically diverse people, people with disabilities, neurodiverse people, and people of all genders, sexualities, and age groups.

Join the pursuit of our purpose to build a better future for ourselves and our communities – #ChangeIt with us.

Monash avidly supports flexible and hybrid working arrangements. We have a range of policies in place enabling staff to combine work and personal commitments. This includes supporting parents .

Your employment is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of all pre-employment and/or background checks required for the role, as determined by the University.

Monash University seeks applicants for this opportunity who are able to demonstrate and present valid and current Australian work rights. This extends to those eligible to apply for a working holiday visa .
