  • Commencement Salary: $76,304 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role  

As a member of the Financial Reporting Team within Corporate Finance and reporting to the Manager: Financial Reporting and Compliance, you are responsible for supporting the recording of accurate financial accounting information for monthly, and annual reporting including transaction processes relating to assets, taxes, subsidiaries, and general accounting requirements. Monthly reconciliation and reporting, also falls within your remit in addition to providing assistance to the Corporate Finance team on various projects.

Core Responsibilities  

  • Maintenance of the asset register to ensure the overall integrity of asset related financial information for management and reporting purposes, working with staff across the University 
  • Manage the fixed assets stocktake process for the University and ensuring any adjustments are reflected in the asset register, working with various staff across the University 
  • Preparation and processing of transactions in relation to the University’s subsidiaries and joint venture arrangements 
  • Preparation and processing of transactions in relation to the University’s royalty based contracts 
  • Undertake analysis and compliance requirements such as FBT and GST including the completion of the BAS, with direction from Commercial Support and primarily the Tax Accountant 

Essential Skills and Experience  
  • Tertiary qualifications or commencement towards, in a finance related discipline, and relevant accounting knowledge gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation   
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, including the ability to identify reconciliation differences and the appropriate course of action to resolve any issues (including follow up to ensure corrective action takes place) 
  • Demonstrated experience working in a complex and pressured environment, independently and as an effective team member, contributing to a number of concurrent activities requiring prioritising to meet tight deadlines and sustain quality outcomes 
  • Knowledge of financial and accrual accounting standards, structures, principles and practices including experience in quality assurance in all aspects of financial and management reporting
