The Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP) provides diagnostic and research capabilities required to investigate and respond to newly emerging diseases affecting livestock and other animals.  Our Quality Assurance team is now offering an opportunity for a second Animal Welfare Officer at the ACDP.  

CSIRO is seeking a self-motivated ACDP Animal Welfare Compliance Manager, responsible for providing leadership in maintaining compliance with the Australian Code for the Care and Use of Animals for Scientific Purposes (2013) (the Code), and the high standards of animal care and use across ACDP in strong well-knit onsite internal collaboration within ACDP’s Animal Research Ethics Team, Animal Ethics Co-ordinator and the Animal Ethics Committee

What is so interesting about this opportunity? You will be instrumental in providing expert animal welfare, compliance and veterinary advice to ensure ACDP continually improves its animal services governance framework and associated processes, to meet industry best practices and the requirements of the Australian Code for the Care and Use of Animals for Scientific Purposes (2013). You will be a trusted advisor to ensure the Facility’s continued ability to work with animals in research studies.

The appointee must be able to meet ACDP microbiological security and security assessment requirements.
