Continuing opportunity available for an Animal Technician to join the Laboratory Animal Services (LAS) team at the University of Adelaide, North Terrace campus.

Laboratory Animal Services (LAS) sits within the Division of the DVC&VP(R) and supports the University’s biomedical research community through the delivery of best practice animal husbandry and the provision of world standard laboratory animal products and services. LAS strive for continuous improvement in animal husbandry through the training and development of its Animal Technicians and a demonstrated commitment to customer service.

The Animal Technician will support the team in achieving the objectives of LAS in delivering research support through best practice animal care and technical assistance.

As part of the LAS team, the Animal Technician will provide support to the operational requirements across all LAS facilities depending on the demand for its services.

To be successful you will need:

• Awareness of the Australian Code for the care and use of animals for scientific purposes.
• Demonstrated commitment to animal care.
• Experience and/or knowledge of biomedical research animal husbandry.
• Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations. 

 Successful candidates should have completed a Diploma in Animal Technology or have an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
