This role will support novel development of machine learning algorithms for a radio frequency sensing and spectrum awareness application, and includes the development of deep learning models for recognition, domain adaptation and zero-shot learning.

The role consists of research, development and demonstration of near real-time autonomous spectrum surveillance aimed to deliver new capabilities in the interest of spectrum situational awareness. Under limited supervision, you will be working with a team of highly skilled professionals and subject experts in the field of Machine Learning and spectrum sensing. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in transitioning new concepts to technology demonstrators, with a focus on Machine Learning for radio frequency applications.

To be successful you will need:

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other Machine Learning-related field.
• Programming experience in Matlab, Python, C++ or other relevant language and experience in deep neural networks.
• A strong work ethic, and the ability to work well independently, and as a member of a broader team, including with industrial partners.
• Fluency in written and spoken English, with an ability to communicate scientific ideas to an expert audience.
• To be either an Australian citizen holding or eligible to apply and maintain a Commonwealth of Australia NV1 security clearance, or a Canadian, USA, UK or NZ citizen with an equivalent security clearance from country of citizenship.
• Commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.

The following will also be highly desirable:

• a PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or other Machine Learning-related field. 
• A good publication record in top tier machine learning conferences or journals, commensurate with experience and opportunity.
• Knowledge of signal processing and radio frequency concepts.
