The Agricultural Scientist – Market Access analysis role will be part of the Resilient Livestock team located in Armidale, NSW.  You will contribute to a program of research projects aimed at supporting market access for Australian Livestock products. This will be achieved through analysis of multiple diverse data streams and bio-economic modelling activities.


Your duties will include:

•    Under general direction, contribute to research and/or technology through the development of original and adapted experimental methods, equipment or software.
•    Undertake a wide variety of tasks or tasks with a high degree of specialisation; particularly in the area of complex data analysis and bio-economic modelling.
•    Show initiative to seek new approaches to meet experimental or technological needs when encountering new problems where methods are not defined.
•    Participate in the identification and definition of research and/or technological problems with colleagues.
•    Liaise with clients to determine their needs and take personal responsibility for their satisfaction.

Location:  Armidale, NSW
Salary:  AU$89,680 to AU$101,459 per annum plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure:  Specified Term of 18 months

To be considered you will need:

•    A PhD in Agricultural Science, Animal Science, Computational Science or equivalent or relevant work experience in similar field.
•    Experience in using high level computational skills to perform complex analyses.
•    Understanding of market access issues facing Australian livestock production.
•    Ability to apply mathematical models to life science or agricultural research areas.
•    Experience in livestock production and processing.
•    Experience with research ethics compliance procedures.
•    A Current Australian Drivers Licence.

Eligibility

Appointment to this role is subject to the provision of a national police check and pre-employment medical examination prior to commencement.
