About the Role

Based in Canberra, ACT and reporting to the Executive Director: Australian Technology Network, the Adviser: Strategy and Governance will provide vital capabilities in strategy, target-setting, project management and relationship management to support ATN’s expanded program of externally facing activities. The position will also serve as a custodian for ATN’s Governance Agreement and ATN’s growing list of partnership agreements. The adviser will play a role in enhancing ATN’s engagement and activities with external partners and drive stronger relationships across the network.

The Australian Technology Network of Universities brings together Australia’s five real world universities focused on enterprise, impact and finding solutions to issues facing our economy and society. Our member universities are Deakin University, Curtin University, RMIT University, University of South Australia, and University of Technology Sydney. Collectively, the ATN educates 16 per cent of all students in Australia and are the destination of choice for 16 per cent of Australia’s international students.

Core Responsibilities

  • Bolster ATN’s engagement, activities and value for members and expand its membership and activities
  • Provide advice and support with the development of a new strategic plan
  • Drive engagement, develop priorities, and provide secretariat support
  • Provide advice and support the development and management of budgets and financial management
  • Scope and develop an Annual report including a system of measuring metrics and impacts

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent combination of education, knowledge, skills and demonstrated experience
  • Extensive experience in governance and risk
  • Highly developed interpersonal, facilitation and negotiation skills including ability to manage stakeholders
  • Highly developed experience with budgets and financial management
  • Strong communication skills and experience writing reports, submissions, speeches, discussion papers and strategic plans
