  • Commencement Salary: $90,234 per annum (plus superannuation)

About the Role

Reporting to the Director: Advancement Services, the Advancement Executive (Fundraising) develops, coordinates and oversees campaigns and programs to generate revenue from a variety of sources by way of corporate supported projects, major gifts, appeals, donations and sponsorship for the University.

The role works with senior leaders to identify and manage strategic philanthropic relationships and institutional partnerships, identifying worthy projects and developing deeply engaged relationships with prospects to secure vital funding from major donors.  A key focus will be seeking funding for the Visiting Research Fellowship initiative which is a key target of the University’s Enterprise Hub in 2021.

Core Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate a range of fundraising appeals in line with corporate priorities and develop plans for increasing donations, bequests, and major gifts to the University
  • Liaise extensively with senior University staff to identify, cultivate and steward significant fundraising related relationships
  • Coordinate scholarship and gift renewals from corporate and individual donors and organisations
  • Coordinate and develop high quality, confidential and professional sponsorship and presentation proposals for scholarships, and other fundraising opportunities
  • Contribute to a range of marketing and communication programs, particularly related to philanthropic and sponsorship.

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing or a related discipline and/or equivalent demonstrated knowledge, skills and well developed experience in fundraising with a proven income track record
  • Demonstrated extensive experience and achievement in planning and implementation of targeted sponsorship or fundraising campaigns
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, representational skills and the ability to relate to a broad cross section of people inside and outside the University
  • Proven experience in producing high quality, marketing communication materials, including the oversight of external suppliers and contractors
  • Demonstrated high level analytical research skills.
