We are seeking an enthusiastic
Administrative Officerto join the team within the
Research Portfolioof the
Faculty of Business and Lawat Curtin University. In this role you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of the area, providing essential support across various administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, publish and distribute reports and other documentation as required in a professional and timely manner (e.g. briefing papers, minutes, agendas and general correspondence).
- Undertake other administrative tasks which the incumbent might reasonably be expected to do, and which are consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities of the role.
- Assist with the planning and execution of internal events, including but not limited to organising venues, catering, suppliers and promotional activities.
- Establish and maintain efficient administrative processes and practices within the area.
- Liaise with relevant area stakeholder and University functional areas (e.g. Research Office, People and Culture, Finance) to ensure specific work is completed as necessary.
- Arrange and coordinate travel arrangements for senior staff and visitors in accordance with the university’s travel procedures.
- Diary management for the Dean, Research, as required.
- Considerable relevant work experience in a busy office environment is essential.
- Previous experience in a tertiary research environment would be highly regarded.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple and often competing tasks, prioritise activities and meet deadlines.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in the Microsoft suite of applications.
- Strong attention to accuracy and detail.
- Effective oral and written communication skills with a well-developed cross-cultural sensitivity and diplomacy.
- Proven ability to work well in a team, including respecting difference, supporting others, accepting direction and working to group goals.
- A willingness to help out other team members and to conduct tasks outside the parameters of this job description if required.

- This position is based at our CurtinBentley campus and candidates are expected to be currently located in Perth, WA. Relocation and sponsorship support will not be provided for this position.
