Flinders Rural and Remote Health SA

Flinders University Rural and Remote Health SA (FRRHSA) facilitates high quality multidisciplinary health education and research in our State's regional areas.

We have a strong national and international reputation for providing community-engaged inter-professional training for medical, nursing, and allied health students. This includes the Doctor of Medicine Rural Stream (MDRS) program and multidisciplinary rural clinical placements.

About the Role

The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to all staff and students based in the Hills, Mallee, Fleurieu region of South Australia as part of the Department of Health, Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) program. Responsibilities will also include first point of contact for campus administrative support to staff, including operational support of regional campus facilities and student accommodation.

The role will be based at either the Victor Harbor or Murray Bridge Campus and the incumbent will be required to live within the region. Subject to ongoing workload, there may be the potential to extend the term of this contract for an exceptional candidate.


About You

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Certificate qualification relevant to administration or relevant experience

  • Effective IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft, databases, Internet and the ability to quickly become competent with other systems and programs as required

  • Ability to liaise positively with customers, community, health professionals and other external stakeholders

  • Understanding of the implications of living in rural and remote environments

  • Commitment to providing support to staff and students including the ability to discern when matters raised need to be referred to senior staff.
