  • An opportunity for an Administrative Assistant - Reception to provide general support to the University Centre for Rural Health – Northern Rivers

  • Working at the Lismore Campus for the University of Sydney, within the University Department of Rural Health – Northern Rivers, part of the Faculty of Medicine and Health

  • Full Time fixed term until 31 December 2024 (with possible extension depending on funding), base salary $77,144 - $81,511 + 17% superannuation. 

About the opportunity

The Administrative Assistant, Reception will manage the reception area and provide general administrative support to the centre and participate in UCRH administration support community of practice. The Administration Assistant, Reception will be an integral part of a high performing team and assist the Executive Assistant, providing administrative and clerical duties under direct guidance, however, will be encouraged to show initiative. General work includes drafting standard documents, record keeping, typing, , arranging staff travel, assisting with organising events, and responding to routine queries. This role requires strong administrative and organisational skills.

About you

  • experience working in a similar position providing administrative support to a team

  • experience working in reception areas is advantageous

  • the ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work

  • numeracy skills together with experience in booking travel and accommodation and reconciling purchases

  • strong verbal and written communications skills including the ability to compose promotional materials, take accurate meeting minutes along with a professional demeanour

  • advanced computer skills, including competency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • working knowledge of software programs such as Records Management and Content Management systems.
