About This Opportunity 

Headquartered the IMB, the Centre for Environmental and Agricultural Solutions to Antimicrobial Resistance (CEAStAR) is a collaborative research and training program led by The University of Queensland with University of Adelaide and industry partners working to develop innovative solutions to mitigate the adverse impacts of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). 

We are seeking a highly organised and effective Administration Officer to support the business operations of CEAStAR  The successful candidate will provide high-level administrative support to the Central Management team and the various committees of the Centre. The position will also provide research administration support for the Blaskovich Group (20%).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Centre Management Team and all other committees, coordinating their activities. 

  • Organise logistics for meetings and events, including room bookings, calendar invitations, travel arrangements, etc. 

  • Support preparation of reports and/or funding applications, including collection of data from stakeholders, in liaison with the Centre manager. 

  • Respond to or refer a wide range of enquiries from internal and external CEAStAR members.

  • Support and organise the Centre’s external engagement activities, including social media presence. 

  • Blaskovich Group duties are similar to the above, in addition to supporting preparation of grant applications and on-boarding of new members.

  • Other administrative duties as assigned by the Centre Director, Deputy Director, and Centre Manager. 

  • Travel may be required from time to time.

This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position Through to 31 December 2025.

At HEW level 5, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $77,396.47 - $86,029.78, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $90,553.87 - $100,654.84 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.


About You  

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced administrative professional to support a dynamic and multidisciplinary Centre.

Selection criteria

Essential:

  • Completion of a degree, with subsequent work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training. 

  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively via phone, email and in person with internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to work effectively and flexibly with a high level of attention to detail.

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Experience in the management of finance systems, including reconciliation of credit cards, payment of invoices, and the ability to interpret and abide by finance policy and procedures in a large organisation.

  • Experience in or knowledge of marketing and communications, including maintenance of websites and social media.

Desirable:

  • Experience with University of Queensland research management systems (UniFi, etc.)

  • Experience in higher education research sector.
