  • Based at the ATN Universities Melbourne Head Office (RMIT CBD campus) but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses.

About The Position


In 2024, the Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN) will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a busy event schedule that includes several high-profile online and in-person events, culminating in a gala dinner in Canberra on October 9th. With a full schedule of events ahead for the remainder of 2024, ATN has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Events Administration Officer to join the team. This position will focus on coordinating both in-person and virtual events in collaboration with the broader ATN team. The Events Administration Officer will be the ‘engine room’ of the ATN25 event calendar, providing expert support to internal and external stakeholders and coordinating and driving tasks within a culture of teamwork, support, and continuous improvement. 

The role reports directly to the ATN Executive Officer and will primarily be based at the Melbourne RMIT Campus (right next to Melbourne Central train station). Flexible working is a part of our culture at ATN, and we are open to discussing how the hybrid model can best serve the role and its requirements. 

This role will require limited interstate travel; the ATN25 Events Administration Officer  will be required to attend the gala event in Canberra on October 9th. 

To be successful in this position, you’ll have: 

  • Completion of a diploma-level qualification and/or subsequent relevant work-related experience.

  • Demonstrated event coordination and administration experience within a large organisation.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute events from start to end. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with limited direction.

  • Knowledge of venue and events operations, including online event tools.

  • Excellent communication skills to enable positive interaction with and gain cooperation and assistance from clients, patrons, and other employees.

  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet competing deadlines.

  • Ability to use initiative to solve problems and undertake decision-making relevant to duties

  • Demonstrated experience using Teams, Zoom and Eventbrite (and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and the ability to develop skills using new platforms.
