Rural Clinical School WA - The University of Western Australia

  • Exciting opportunity for a skilled administrator to take on a diverse role. This position is located in Derby, Western Australia
  • Level 5 / part-time, 0.5 FTE on a fixed term basis until December 2024
  • Base salary range: $76,422 – $84,705 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation
  • Derby district allowance of $10,821 per annum (pro-rata) is applicable

About the team

The Rural Clinical School of Western Australia is a unit within the UWA Medical School which provides rural clinical training for WA medical students. The RCSWA spans a breadth of some 3,500kms across multiple sites in WA order to provide a positive rural educational experience, increase the quantity and quality of the rural workforce and in turn improve health outcomes in rural and remote Australia. The Academic Services team provides academic administration and technical support services to the University’s schools, including Heads of School, academic staff and research students. The team is committed to providing effective and efficient services in support of the Schools’ and University’s strategic objectives, with a focus on continuous improvement and best practice.

About the opportunity

As the appointee you will, under general direction, provide expertise in a wide variety of administrative duties to support the operations of RCSWA and its programs. You will work collaboratively across teams to ensure high quality service provision and responding to changing demands. You will also provide site level support to students and to the Medical Coordinator.

 To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent competency
  • Substantial relevant administrative experience at an appropriate level
  • Proficient in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet and email
  • Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively as part of a team
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to providing a high level of quality customer service
