Overview
Academic Quality and Standards manages University-level processes for course management, quality reviews and academic policy development. It provides expert advice on the requirements of the Higher Education Threshold Standards and regulation by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and Vocational Educational and Training requirements. 

The role
Under broad supervision, the Academic Quality and Standards Coordinator coordinates and supports the University’s course approval processes and ECU’s Excellence framework through the provision of timely and accurate advice and guidance to staff, ensuring processes and workflows are clearly communicated and complied with. This role is also specifically responsible for the tracking and monitoring of course and unit reviews and professional accreditation activities . In addition, the Coordinator:

  • Undertakes specific projects that support business unit objectives as required;
  • Supports policy implementation and the development of new processes in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders; and
  • Contributes to the maintenance and management of relevant/applicable systems and provides information, advice and support to clients in relation to those systems.

Key capabilities
A highly organised individual with keen attention to detail, the successful candidate will be confident with liaising with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels in the organisation. In addition, the successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate experience in a governance setting, ideally with exposure to academic governance or a higher education environment;
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor information to different audiences and write to a high professional standard; and
  • Demonstrate experience with the coordination of projects, compliance auditing and quality checking.

Benefits & Remuneration
This part-time fixed term position attracts remuneration of $85,551-$92,301 pa (pro rata) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
