Full-time Faculty in TESOL/Applied Linguistics, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Master’s Program in Teaching English as a Foreign Language

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences of the American University of Armenia (www.aua.am ) is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position in the Master’s Program in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (MA TEFL) starting in January 2022.

The MA TEFL is a dynamic two-year program designed to meet the needs of an educational system in transition, with a strong focus on community outreach and fieldwork experience. The program also offers the Certificate in TEFL with a selection of MA TEFL courses to accommodate the professional development needs of in-service teachers. Qualifications: Successful candidates will hold a PhD in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Foreign Language Education, or related field. Documented experience in teaching (including English as a second or foreign language) is required. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach courses in at least three of the following areas: Second Language Acquisition; Pedagogical EFL/ESL Grammar; TEFL/TESL Methodology; Teaching English to Young Learners, New Technologies in TEFL; Curriculum Design, Research Methods, Capstone/Thesis Supervision. Experience in designing and teaching online and/or hybrid courses in teacher education is strongly preferred.

Compensation: Compensation commensurate with university-wide pay scale, qualifications, and experience. International faculty receive a monthly housing allowance, annual home-leave allowance, and a one-time relocation allowance for new hires.
