Description   The United States Geological Survey (USGS) offers up to 20 postdoctoral fellowships for research in the earth sciences and related fields for 2 years. Fellows conduct concentrated research in association with selected members of the USGS professional staff. Research opportunities include testing and improving detection, terrain feature modeling, laboratory research in earthquake processes, and deep-ocean mineral deposits. This fellowship can be extended when work and funding are available. 
Award Amount   Annual stipend starts at $60,274 and increases depending on the amount of locality pay for the geographic area of the assignment.

Academic Level   Postdoctoral Scholar.  
Citizenship   No citizenship requirements. Preference given to U.S. citizens and nationals. 
Requirements   Must have received PhD within the last 5 years. Resume. Transcripts. List of publications. Research proposal. Strong priority for US citizens and nationals.
