Description   The Smithsonian Institution (SI) in Washington DC offers a 10-week internship for up to 5 underrepresented graduate students in Business and Public Affairs. These internships are for minority students to develop their career in the management of not-for-profit scientific and cultural organizations at the Smithsonian. Interns are placed with mentors in offices, museums, and research institutes throughout the Smithsonian Institute. Projects are usually created as part of the review process. 
Award Amount   Stipend awards are $550 per week, with possible travel allowances. 
Disciplines   School of Management. Business and Public Administration. 
Academic Level   Prospective/Current Graduate Student.  
Citizenship   Open only to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.  
Requirements   The program is for minority graduate (and junior or senior-level undergraduate) students. For those studying Business and Public Administration. Transcripts. 2-3 letters of references from people outside the Smithsonian, 2 letters should be from the applicant's professors. If the applicant has a preferred unit placement, he or she should state which museums, departments, research institutes or offices they want to work at. Essay. CV or resume.
