Days - on rotating shift to include Weekends, Holidays and possibly Evenings.  
Job Summary
Under the supervision of Dairy Commodity Chairperson and Dairy Research Specialist, this position is responsible for routine care and handling of dairy cows and farm facilities; weekend supervision of students and full-time workers on a rotational basis; advance care of dairy cows including administration of treatments to sick animals; artificial insemination and record keeping; assist in conduct of experiments and collection of research data. Work location is Newtown Road, Lexington, KY.  
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Large animal handling; operating farm machinery (tractor, skid steer loader); computer literate; and able to artificially inseminate cattle.  
Preferred Education / Experience
BS in Animal Sciences or related field; 2 years experience in production agriculture and general maintenance; and artificial insemination certification.
