This is a non laboratory research position. You will provide assistance to a research staff by collecting data, keeping records, conducting literature and technical research, analyzing data, preparing reports, etc.
Department Preferences
Preference will be given to degreed applicants who also meet the experience requirement.

Physical Requirements:
Standard administrative support environment and exposure. Ability to stand including standing for short or extended time periods.
Ability to engage in repetitive motions including movements of the hands, wrists or fingers.
Ability to grasp including applying pressure to objects with fingers or hands.
Ability to feel including perceiving size, shape, temperature and texture.
Ability to touch including finger dexterity.
Ability to speak including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others.
Ability to hear including perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
Ability to see including unique visual requirements above and beyond the standard ability to see with or without corrective eyewear such as color vision, depth perception, etc.
Required Education and Experience:
Research Assistant I: Bachelor's degree comparable to where the vacancy exists AND 12 months experience as a research assistant. Will accept 48 months of equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
Research Assistant II: Bachelor's degree comparable to where the vacancy exists AND 24 months experience as a research assistant. Will accept 48 months of equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

Required Skills and Proficiencies:

Excellent medical literature and data research skills applicable to this position.
Must be highly proficient on all Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
This position requires proficiency in statistical analysis and SPSS.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to work successfully with a diverse group of faculty and other staff.
Must be able to follow directions and work as part of a team.
Must be able to report to the work location regularly and in a timely manner.
