Postdoctoral Research Associate - The Princeton-Harvard China and the World Program (CWP)
Woodrow Wilson School - 285
Princeton University and Harvard University jointly founded the fellowship program for the advanced study of China's international relations, the Princeton-Harvard China and the World Program (CWP), in 2005. The program's co-directors are Thomas J. Christensen of Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and Alastair Iain Johnston of Harvard's Government Department. The China and the World Program supports research that integrates theoretical innovations in the field of international relations with the rigorous study of China's interactions with countries, regions, institutions, and non-state actors.
In 2012-2013, the program will award several one-year "postdoctoral research associate" positions. Preference will be given to scholars who have defended their dissertations in the past three years and are currently working on revising their Ph.D. thesis for publication as a book or who are just beginning a second major project. Depending on their areas of interest, fellows will reside at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School or Harvard University's Center for Government and International Studies and are expected to participate actively in the intellectual life of these institutions.
You are required to apply online and submit:
- 1-2 page cover letter that briefly states your interest in the program, your background, and a summary of your research project
- project description
- 2 scholarly writing samples
- Contact information for two recommendations.
The deadline for submission is January 6, 2012.
Applicants must have received a PhD before starting the fellowship. Only applicants working on some aspect of China's relations with the outside world that supports CWP's mission need apply.
