Mica and Ahmet Ertegun Graduate Scholarship Programme in the Humanities

Approximately 12 Ertegun Scholars are selected to attend University of Oxford cost free (full university and college fees plus living costs). At Oxford, Ertegun Scholars pursue one-year and two-year full-time master’s degrees in diverse fields in the humanities.

Ertegun Scholars have the exclusive use of the Mica and Ahmet Ertegun House for the Study of the Humanities, a building in the heart of Oxford dedicated to study and research by Ertegun Scholars, and they are mentored by a full-time Ertegun Senior Scholar in Residence, an Oxford faculty member. Ertegun Scholars have access to a program of lectures, seminars, concerts, and other enrichment activities designed especially for them.

• Bachelor’s degree by the start of grant period.
• Candidates must be applying to start, and must meet the requirements for, a new graduate course at Oxford.
• Students from all countries and all backgrounds are welcome to apply for Ertegun Scholarships, including UK students. 

Ertegun Scholars demonstrate incredible academic talent and ambition. They have clear plans for enlarging their knowledge, have the desire to extend their vision, and seek the opportunity to exchange their ideas. They will contribute intellectually to their country of origin and act as ambassadors for the humanities upon completion of their scholarship term.

You apply for the scholarship at the same time as you apply to Oxford by selecting “Mica and Ahmet Ertegun Graduate Scholarships in the Humanities” in the Funding Section of the university’s Graduate Application Form. You must also complete a supporting statement and upload it together with your Graduate Application Form by the application deadline in order for your application to be complete. In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must submit your application for graduate study by the required deadline, and you must have been offered a place on your chosen program of study by the expected final decision date.
