The Agency for Health Care Research and Quality (AHRQ) awards grants to a diverse selection of Ph.D. candidate health services researchers for 9 - 17 months. Health care services research could be focused on plans for priority populations, as well as inner-city and rural areas. Awards given to support dissertation research which will improve the quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care for all Americans.


Eligibility & Requirements

Must be enrolled in a doctoral degree program and have completed all non-dissertation requirements for their degrees. Candidates with more than part-time employment in addition to the requirements of their current, full-time academic student appointments (defined as greater than 20 hours per week), are not eligible. Up to 6 pages for the applicant's Research Strategy component. Research must be focused on health care delivery in the United States. Cannot be awarded to a for-profit organization. 2 letters of support.
