Position Overview
Responsible for all donor relations, stewardship, and reporting (internal and external) on behalf of Institutional Advancement and the UNTHSC Foundation. The position has expanded to include the administration and management of Blackbaud’s Awards Management System (scholarship administration) in addition to the stewardship of new and existing scholarships in the UNTHSC Foundation and to ensure scholarship compliance with donor intent. Works with the Senior Financial Manager to ensure accurate financial reporting to donors, alumni and other constituents. Works with internal constituents to provide timely endowment reporting to donors highlighting the benefits (expenditures) from endowed funds.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience on an Advancement team (preferable in a donor relations/stewardship role)
* A commitment to UNTHSC’s mission and vision
* Outstanding interpersonal skills, and a high level of comfort with direct donor interaction
* Excellent writing and speaking skills
* Excellent organizational skills
* Experience working with a development database (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge preferred)
* Initiative and independence, combined with the ability to work well as part of a team
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends

Job Duties


o
Responsible for the administration and management of Blackbaud’s Awards Management System (scholarship administration) as well as managing new and existing scholarships in the UNTHSC Foundation. Monitors scholarship postings and selections to ensure scholarships are awarded consistently and within federal, state, and UNTHSC guidelines. Responsible for collaborating with UNT System Department of Information Technology on importing and maintaining student data for Blackbaud’s Awards Management System. Accurate data entry to maintain the integrity of donor demographic and gift information. Responsible for reporting internally and externally all donations in Raisers Edge. Provide end-of-month gift reports.

Provides stewardship reports for donors and departments by communicating the scholarship process and award status and prepares appropriate acknowledgment letters. Responds to student inquiries regarding award criteria, payout, and awarding process. Utilizes database management skills along with feedback from end-users to continually improve the application and awarding process for all stakeholders.

Coordinates and provides training to students, organizations, scholarship selection committees, UNTHSC faculty, staff and external committees. Collaborates with Marketing to promote scholarships. Evaluates the scholarship process and stays abreast of system software updates to improve overall productivity, training and technical support for end-users, making recommendation for improvements. Analyzes and summarizes detailed data reports to donors, alumni, campus leadership, Foundation members and selection committee coordinators. Prepares specialized reports for donors, various UNTHSC colleges/schools, UNTHSC departments and the UNTHSC Foundation.

Must have strong written and oral communication skills, along with effective listening and interpretative skills, in order to clearly communicate information, ideas and instructions to individuals within a diverse college community. Performs other duties as assigned. Participate in annual audit. Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly gift reports for all IA team members and other reports as requested.
