Description   The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) awards up to 10 scholarships for 1 year, establishing students with little accounting education. Scholarship recipients will be funded for students to consider professional accounting careers.  
Award Amount   Stipends of $5,000 per year. Must be expenses that relate to getting an accounting education, such as tuition, fees, room and board, and/or books and materials only. Non-renewable. 
Disciplines   School of Management. Limited to accounting. 
Academic Level   Prospective/Current Graduate Student.  
Citizenship   Open only to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.  
Requirements   Applicants should be liberal arts and non-business degree holders who are pursuing both graduate studies in accounting and the CPA license. Must be accepted into, or in the process of applying to, a graduate program in accounting. Not earned more than 12 credits in accounting or business during his/her undergraduate program. Enrolled as a full-time graduate level student (9 semester hours or equivalent) for the upcoming academic year. 2 essays are about how the applicant's background will benefit him or her to become a CPA, and what actions the applicant will take as an AICPA Legacy Scholar.
