I am very grateful to University of Greenwich for awarding one of our students with the Visionary Scholarship for 2023. This is such an amazing opportunity for them. I am extremely proud that one of our students will be able to attend your university, after overcoming challenges during their educational journey. – Teacher, Bishop Justus School
For many students, applying to university can be a difficult and daunting decision. We work closely with our targeted schools and colleges to support academic attainment and progression to higher education.
Inclusivity, excellence, determination and ambition embody our values, and we understand financial barriers can limit student potential. Thanks to a University of Greenwich alumni, we can offer two cash scholarships worth £5,000.
These are paid in three instalments during the student's first year of study with us.
We invite teachers/advisers within our network to nominate students who have received an offer to study a full-time undergraduate course starting in September 2024.
Eligibility
Teachers can nominate students who meet the following criteria.
- They are one of up to two nominations from your institution.
- The student embodies our university values and has overcome adversity. More information about our values can be found here: This is our time 2030 Strategy.
- The student has applied through UCAS using the school or college centre name.
- They have received an offer from us to study a full-time undergraduate course (including extended programmes) paying the maximum tuition fee of £9250, commencing in September 2024.
- This course can be at our Greenwich, Avery Hill or Medway Campus (excluding the Medway School of Pharmacy).
- They have visited the university or engaged in preparatory progression activities offered by the University of Greenwich in school/college.
How to apply
Applications for 2024/25 will close at Midnight on 24 May 2024.
Download a nomination form here.
A committee will review all applications and award scholarships on merit. We aim to make our decision by 6 June 2024.
“After overcoming challenges, some of which are still ongoing, I am grateful to be chosen by the University of Greenwich to receive the Visionary Scholarship. This scholarship will be a great help towards furthering my education. Thank you!” – Student, Bishop Justus School
