Description
This is a new post joining a small team of Senior Technical Researchers in the University’s IT Services research and development group. You will undertake technical/development work and oversee and manage a portfolio of projects of typically up to 12 months’ duration. These may include IT systems development, project management, contributing to bidding processes, writing project plans and reports, co-ordination and liaison with partners, and working in accordance with relevant procedures, policies and standards.
You will have experience working in all aspects of technical project development and management including demonstrable experience of a variety of programming languages and development environments, database management systems, user needs analysis and/or user centred design methodologies. In the first instance experience in Microsoft .Net is desirable.
R&D/ILRT forms the research and development (R&D) function within IT Services. Its primary focus is on ‘future-watching’, promoting and disseminating leading edge technologies and on undertaking R&D projects to inform and deliver the medium-longer term strands of the University’s IT strategy to support teaching, learning and research.
