The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China, a pioneer in Sino-foreign tertiary education, is rapidly expanding. It is looking for ambitious, talented academics with a passion for teaching as well as research flair to join its team of experts within the Division of International Communications. UNNC is part of the University of Nottingham, and offers unique teaching and research opportunities in a highly dynamic economy.
Applications are invited for the above post in the Division of International Communications Studios based at the University of Nottingham, Ningbo China which is one of the founding academic divisions at UNNC. The division currently delivers three degree programmes: BA International Communications (with French, German, Spanish or Japanese), BA International Communications with Chinese and an MA International Communications (with French, German, Spanish, Japanese or Chinese). As well as core communications and language subjects, students on these programmes are able to choose from a range of optional modules offered by IC and other academic divisions at UNNC. This allows students to enrich their overall learning experience and to follow a course that meets their individual study needs.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute lectures and seminars in International Communications across all years of the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes; and to contribute to the supervision of undergraduate and masters dissertations.
Candidates must have a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject as well as excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Experience of teaching/tutorial work in relevant subjects at degree level in an international English-speaking institution is also essential.
Salary will be within the range RMB 259,070 – RMB 309,343 per annum (salary can progress to RMB 338,027 subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments. This post is available from 1 September 2012 and will initially be offered on a fixed-term contract with The University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of 3 years with the possibility of contract renewal. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis after 7 years, by mutual agreement, subject to revised terms and conditions.
