The School of Engineering offers the Graduate PhD Scholarship to provide a pathway for current UK undergraduate and master's students in the School of Engineering to progress onto postgraduate research in 23/24.Funding details:

  • 3.5 year fully-funded scholarship
  • Tuition fees at home rate
  • Minimum annual stipend of £17,668 for the duration of the scholarship

This scholarship is open to current undergraduate and master's students in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, residing in the UK, who are eligible for home fees and are progressing onto postgraduate research in 23/24.

Academic requirements

To be considered for this scholarship you must:

  • Have, or expect to achieve, at least a 2.1 honours degree or a master's in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at The University of Manchester

This award is available to existing postgraduate students.


You must also:

  • Reside in the UK
  • Be eligible for home fees
  • Be starting your PhD in 2023/24 in one of the following research disciplines: Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Engineering Project Management, Mechanical Engineering
