The Kent School of Architecture is offering one graduate teaching assistantship (GTA). Students engaged as graduate teaching assistants hold a unique position in the University; they are both registered students in receipt of a scholarship award and employees of the University.
The GTA will cover tuition fees at the Home/EU rate plus a combined maintenance grant and salary, equivalent to the maintenance grant offered by the Research Councils (£13,590 in 2011-12).
The GTA will be offered for one year in the first instance, renewable for a maximum of three years subject to satisfactory academic performance.
Candidates must hold a good Honours degree (First or 2i) AND a Master’s degree at merit or distinction in a relevant subject or equivalent.
The GTA competition is open to all postgraduate research applicants. UK, EU and overseas fee paying students. This GTA is offered to full-time postgraduate research students enrolling in September/October 2012.
How to apply
To be eligible for a GTA, candidates must make a formal application for postgraduate research study at the University of Kent, and be accepted onto the programme. Applications to the University can be made online.
When candidates send their application paperwork to the University of Kent they should include a letter stating that they would like to be considered for a GTA.
The deadline for applications for 2012 has passed. Full details for 2013 will be published here when available.
