Description
The MVRL wishes to employ a research technician on a BBSRC funded research project. You will provide direct technical support in generation of recombinant DNA constructs (splicing-sensitive fluorescent reporters), siRNA based fluorescent screens in mammalian cells, and breeding and maintenance of transgenic mice colonies.
You will also learn multiple techniques (e.g. cell culture, immunohistochemistry, Fluorescence Associated Cell Sorting, histology) as well as ensuring that the laboratory is well maintained and stocked. Other duties will include electrical equipment testing, waste management, making up solutions and preparing materials for experiments.
