Salary

£24520 to £29249 depending on skills and experience (£27,578 per annum minimum with relevant PhD)
This full-time post is available immediately and will be offered on a fixed term contract for a period of 8 months to cover maternity leave.

Applications are invited for the above post in the Division of Animal Sciences, based in the School of Biosciences at the Sutton Bonington Campus.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Division with an international reputation for research in a wide range of subject areas.

The successful candidate will carry out high quality research in the field of dairy cow nutrition funded by a DEFRA programme that is examining strategies to reduce methane emissions from dairy cows.

Candidates must hold a PhD, or equivalent in relevant area or be near to completion. (Thesis must be submitted at time of application). Candidates will need to plan and manage animal trials (including on-farm studies), conduct relevant laboratory assays, analyse and interpret data (including analyses of large datasets, writing reports and preparing papers for publication) and make presentations to relevant bodies, including sponsors and societies. This role will involve regular off-site visits to dairy farms across the UK.
