This full-time post is available on a fixed-term contract for a period of 6 months.
Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate/Fellow (Systematic Review), to join the Health Protection Research Group headed by Professor Jonathan Van-Tam.
The main responsibilities of the post holder will be to prepare the systematic review protocol, execute the literature search strategy, extract data and assess included studies for risk of bias. The successful applicant will also analyse the study dataset, preparing a final study report for the grant funder and a manuscript(s) for publication in the peer reviewed literature as well as writing a grant application(s) for further related research work. The post holder will maintain overall responsibility for conducting the systematic review and will be required to work to deadlines set by the grant funder and their supervisor(s).
Applicants should possess an MPH, MSc in Epidemiology or postgraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant area. They should have in-depth knowledge and practical skills in carrying out systematic reviews and meta-analysis, as well as the ability to observe and define priorities and timetables in the achievement of strategic and operational objectives. Applicants should have advanced statistics skills, and be able to demonstrate evidence of achievement in the execution, writing-up and presentation of projects as well as having experience of collaborating effectively with people from a range of different disciplines.
